To create a new Product Template, navigate to Products → Product Template and click + Create Template. The template creation form is divided into the following sections:

General Information

• Template Name (Required) — Enter a descriptive name for the template that clearly identifies its intended use (e.g., T-Shirts, Hoodies, Posters)

• Description — Use the rich text editor to compose a default product description that will be applied to all products using this template. The editor supports standard formatting options including headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, bullet lists, numbered lists, blockquotes, code blocks, hyperlinks, and inline images

• Size Chart — Upload a size chart image that will be embedded into the product page for all products using this template. Drag and drop an image file into the upload area or click Add File to browse and select from your local machine

Right Panel — Organization & Platform Settings

• Platform (Required) — Select the sales channel this template is configured for. Currently supported: TikTok Shop

• Status (Required) — Set the default publication status for products imported using this template. Options: Show (Active) or Hide (Inactive)

• Vendor — Enter a default vendor or brand name to be assigned to all products using this template (e.g., Nike, No Brand)

• Collections (Required) — Select one or more collections from your existing store collections. All products imported using this template will be automatically assigned to the selected collections

• Tags — Define default product tags to be applied to all products using this template. Tags help with internal organization and storefront filtering. Press Enter after each tag to add it to the list

Category TikTok Shop

This section maps products to the appropriate TikTok Shop product category, ensuring compliance with TikTok's listing requirements for the target marketplace.

• Marketplace — Select the target TikTok Shop region (e.g., US, UK) to load the corresponding category taxonomy

• Category (Required) — Search for and select the most relevant product category from TikTok Shop's category tree. The selected category will be displayed as a tag (e.g., Collectibles / Sports Collectibles / Shirts | 2163472)

Once a category is selected, TikTok Shop's required and optional product attributes for that category will be dynamically loaded. Complete the applicable fields, which may include:

• Autograph Authentication — Certification status for autographed items

• Autographed (Required for applicable categories) — Whether the item is autographed

• CA Prop 65: Carcinogens (Required) — California Proposition 65 compliance disclosure for carcinogenic substances

• CA Prop 65: Repro. Chems (Required) — California Proposition 65 compliance disclosure for reproductive chemicals

• Condition (Required) — The product condition (e.g., New, Used)

• Dangerous Goods or Hazardous Materials — Declaration of any hazardous material content

• Specification — Additional product specification details as required by the selected category

ℹ️ Required attribute fields are marked with an asterisk (*). TikTok Shop will reject product listings that are missing required category attributes. Completing these fields accurately in the template ensures all imported products are listing-compliant from the point of import.

Pricing

• Price (Required) — Set the default retail price to be applied to all products imported using this template

• Compare at Price — Set an optional original or crossed-out price to display alongside the selling price, indicating a discount or promotional offer

Inventory

• SKU — Define a default Stock Keeping Unit code. For products with multiple variants, SKUs are typically configured at the variant level

• Barcode — Enter a default barcode value (ISBN, UPC, GTIN, or equivalent) if applicable

• Track Quantity — Enable this option to activate inventory tracking for products using this template

• Continue to Sell When Out of Stock — When enabled, products will remain available for purchase even when inventory reaches zero

Variants

Enable the "This product has multiple options, like different sizes or colors" checkbox to configure variant options for the template. Each variant option consists of an Option Name and one or more Option Values.

Example configuration:

• Option Name: Color — Option Values: Black, White

• Option Name: Size — Option Values: S, M, L, XL

Click Add Another Option to define additional variant dimensions. MerchFox.Shop will automatically generate all possible variant combinations from the configured options (e.g., Black/S, Black/M, White/L, etc.).

For each generated variant, the following fields are available:

• Image — Assign a specific product image to the variant

• SKU — A unique identifier for the specific variant

• Barcode — Barcode value specific to the variant

• Price — Override the base price for this specific variant

• Compare — Override the compare-at price for this specific variant

Use the Default from Values dropdowns to set the default selected color and size displayed to customers on the product page.

Custom Options

The Custom Options section allows merchants to add personalization fields to the product listing. Custom options enable buyers to submit custom input — such as a name, text, or special instruction — at the time of purchase, which increases buyer satisfaction and conversion rate. Click Add Another Option to define a new custom input field.

Shipping

Define the default physical shipping parameters for products using this template. These values are required for accurate shipping rate calculation and carrier compliance.

• Weight (Required) — The product's shipping weight

• Weight Unit (Required) — Select the unit of measurement: Pound (lb) or Kilogram (kg)

• Package Height (Required) — The height of the packaged product

• Package Width (Required) — The width of the packaged product

• Package Length (Required) — The length of the packaged product

Search Engine Listing Preview

The Search Engine Listing Preview section displays how the product page will appear in search engine results. Click Edit Website SEO to manually configure the SEO title and meta description for products using this template, improving organic discoverability across search engines.

Once all sections are completed, click Save to create the template. Click Cancel to discard all changes and return to the Product Template list.
